- Two children. Harry is 10 and "only has ADHD" Henry is 9 and has been given many dx. ADHD, PDD charactaristics,bi-polar or OCD, Oppositional Defiance behaviors also. He is not able to be safe at home and is currently in at a sub-acute unit in CT. I have found the mental health system terribly difficult to navigate. Where there should be freeways and roads to access services there are only secret alleys where we need to bang at the back doors to get in! Sometimes we are met by thugs. Though there are MANY angels like our Care Coordinator, friends (Kim Stag.) see her blog below, neighbors, church folk, social workers, teachers, principals,doctors, along the way it is an exhausting, painful, grieving and sometimes seemingly hopeless path. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel because of these angels in our lives. I am using my pen name because my children are adopted through DCF. The pen names for our children are Harry and Henry.
